Tucked behind Loyola University, it’s filled with 1920’s cottages and bountiful gardens. On a recent home search my buyers and I found properties offered for sale ranging from $165,000 - $299,000.
This house is a good example of the typical home you'll find in Radnor-Winston. Note the updated siding and new windows, the pride of ownership is evident. The average lot includes fenced back yards (perfect for dog owners!) covered front porches (perfect for porch swings!) and off street parking.
This 3 bedroom 2.5 bath 1927 property sold at the end of June 2012. I like the cedar shingles, a nice way to reinvigorate a siding clad house is to replace the siding with cedar shingles. To my eye it's a more authentic look. If you take a harder look at the market data you'll see that many homes have significant seller subsidy's as part of the transaction. Much of these subsidy's are negotiated credits from the inspection phase. Radnor-Winston has an older housing stock that needs updating. The type of heating and cooling systems affect the home prices.
This property on Rossiter Ave just went "under contract" with a list-price of $191,000 it lasted just over 60 days on the market. Don't you just love the crepe myrtle tree bursting with Magenta blossoms at the curb?
This property on Rossiter Ave is listed for sale with an asking price of $226,000. It's got central air and new windows. Most peculiar it has an optional corn furnace in the basement in addition to its natural gas furnace. I think the curb appeal on this home could be improved. If it were mine I'd add an arts and crafts style porch light and consider paving the driveway. Inside its got a delightful wood burning fireplace and attractive french doors separating the living room from the dining room. It also has some great hardwood floors that could use refinishing.

The rule of thumb for scoring property in this affordable neighborhood in Baltimore's Roland Park school district is to find a property as far from York Rd as possible. York Rd is a busy commercial street that serves as the northern most boundary of the Radnor-Winston neighborhood. The only points off I could give this property is it's a little too close to York Rd for my buyers. Once inside you'll quickly forget this flaw, the sellers truly did a beautiful job with the renovation.
This is the most affordable house in Radnor-Winston; 415 Radnor Rd Baltimore MD 21212 has been on the market for over 400 days currently listed for $165,000, it came on the market at $199,000. When we got up to the door cobwebs were covering the lock. This property is immediately next to a commercial building owned by Loyola University on York Rd. It was built in 1935 and features 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths. I think some fencing could really help this property. It's a great option for a budget conscious buyer. It shows reasonably well on this inside. The gutters on the back of this property are filled with leaves and weeds - someone better come clean those out soon otherwise there will be water problems that follow....
