The Baltimore Maryland Agent: Rainbow Over Baltimore

Rainbow Over Baltimore

Weather in the Mid-Atlantic has been peculiar this year. My favorite episode was  earlier this month when we had a rainbow over Baltimore.  A slow moving rainstorm hit around 6pm. Around dusk the light looks perfect on the federal red brick fascades. Its a great time of day to photograph urban buildings. On this special evening we were treated with a rainbow that was vibrant and memorable.

This photo was taken 3.5 miles north of the Inner Harbor from the University One Condominium in Charles Village. Thanks to social media suddenly a lot of us Charm City natives were out snapping dramatic pictures of the rainbow and sharing it with friends. Here is a picture taken from the Station North neighborhood looking north by my friend Eddie Winter.

Just how peculiar has the weather been? Well our spring real estate market got off to a bang this year in February when the average temperature was around 60 degrees. It doesn't officially count as weather, but last summer we had an earthquake. Today as I write this blog post it's 109 degrees! Seriously.

The rainbow over Baltimore is a metaphor for how I feel about this town. Sometimes its a bit dark and stormy but the sheer beauty that you can find makes it all worthwhile. What's at the end of the rainbow? Turns out it's my beloved Baltimore.

Rachel: Dramatic, indeed! Lovely photos of the rainbow. Best of luck staying cool today, wow I can't imagine 109 degrees! I'm off to a BBQ this afternoon and we're looking at 80 degrees tops just south of Seattle. What a great view from the University One Condominium. Thanks for sharing!
